Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash

In Jefferson County, one Hilsboro Man is killed and passenger seriously injured after the at-fault driver pulled into the path of his motorcycle.

On November 13, 2013 at approximately 10:25 p. m., James Werner, age 64 of Hilsboro, Missouri was operating a 2010 Pontiac G6. Thomas Bryant, age 32 of Hilsboro, Missouri was operating a 2002 Yamaha YZFR1, with passenger Danielle, Cole, age 21 of Imperial, Missouri.

At that said time and date, James Werner was traveling in the southbound direction as Thomas Bryant was traveling in the northbound direction on Old MO-21. James was attempting to make a left turn onto Lake Lorraine when he pulled into the path of Thomas. Thomas motorcycle struck the side of James Pontiac and ejected both Thomas and his passenger Danielle.

Thomas Bryant was pronounced dead by Valle Ambulance personnel at 11:04 p. m., and was transported to St. Louis County Morgue by Schaeffer Mortuary. Danielle Cole received serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital Creve Coeur by Survival Flight. James Werner did not seek medical attention at that time.

Thomas Bryant’s 2002 Yamaha YZFR1 received total damages and was towed by Haberberger. James Werner’s 2010 Pontiac G6 received total damages and was towed by Haberberger.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
