Metrobus Crash Injures 15 Passengers

In St. Louis County, 14 passengers of a metrobus were treated for minor injuries after another vehicle crosses the center line and collides with the bus head on.

On April 29, 2012 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Teresa McLemore, age 41 and a resident of St. Louis, Missouri was operating a 2008 Gillig passenger bus and traveling in the eastbound direction. Denia Washington, age 28 and of Florissant, Missouri was operating a 2008 Pontiac G6 and traveling in the westbound direction.

At that said time and place, Teresa McLemore was traveling eastbound on Pershall Road, east of Elizabeth Avenue, as Denia Washington was traveling westbound. The crash occurred when Denia was traveling at a high rate of speed and crossed over the center line into the path of the metrobus. The front of both vehicles struck each other.

All passengers were treated for minor injuries and only one was hospitalized. Denia Washington received serious injuries from the crash collision and was taken by Christian Northeast ambulance to DePaul hospital for medical treatment.

The 2008 Gillig passenger bus received extensive damages and was towed by Mike’s Towing Inc. Denia Washington’s 2008 Pontiac received total damages from the crash and was towed by Ferguson Super Service.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop C.
