On June 3, 2012 at approximately 1:50 p.m., 54 year old Gaylord Crawford of La Plata, Missouri was operating a 1996 Geo Metro traveling northbound on Route E at the intersection of US 63. Crawford was stopped in the roadway to make a left turn.
At that time and place, 80 year old Kenneth Saner of Lancaster, Missouri was operating a 2004 Buick Century also traveling northbound on Route E. Saner failed to yield and struck Crawford’s vehicle in the rear.
Gaylord Crawford sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was transported by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment. The at-fault driver, Kenneth Saner, was transported to Scotland Medical Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries he sustained in the crash. The at-fault driver was wearing his safety device at the time of the crash; however, Gaylord Crawford was not.
Crawford’s vehicle received total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by Chuck’s Towing. The at-fault vehicle received extensive damage in the crash and was also towed from the scene by Chuck’s Towing. Both drivers did possess insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.
This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper C. Porter of Troop B and was assisted by Trooper S. Smeltser, Queen City Police Department, Schuyler County Ambulance and Schuyler County Sheriff’s Department.
