In Montgomery County, two participants are involved in a head-on collision that results in serious injuries.
On December 8, 2013 at approximately 3:50 p.m., Kara Bounds, age 26 of Berger, Missouri was operating a 2010 Nissan Sentra. Ann Rathert, age 63 of O’Fallon, Missouri was operating a 2004 Honda Accord.
At that said date and time, Kara Bounds was traveling in the southbound direction while Ann Rathert was traveling in the northbound direction on Missouri Highway 19 and .6 miles south of I-70. The collision occurred as Kara Bounds traveled across the center of the roadway and collided with Ann’s vehicle head-on.
Ann Rathert and Kara Bounds received serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to St. Joseph’s West Hospital in Lake St. Louis.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both Ann and Kara were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.
Ann Rathert’s 2004 Honda Accord received total damages and was towed by Hagedorn Collision Repair in Hermann, Missouri. Kara Bounds’ 2010 Nissan Sentra received total damages and was towed by Harvey’s Towing in Hermann, Missouri.
This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop F.
