In Boone County, the driver operating a motorcycle is ejected after the at-fault vehicle crossed into his passing lane.
On April 21, 2014 at approximately 4:45 p.m., Kathleen Dunn, age 20 of Springfield, Missouri was operating a 2009 Infinity G37. Brandon Irwin, age 29 of Fulton, Missouri was operating a 1999 Buell motorcycle.
At that said date and time, both vehicles were traveling in the southbound direction on US 63 and at Rolling Hills Road. The crash occurred as Kathleen entered US 63 southbound and attempted to cross both lanes of traffic to get into the j-turn lane. Kathleen’s vehicle crossed into the passing lane when Brandon Irwin’s motorcycle collided into the rear-end of her vehicle. From the collision, Brandon was ejected from his motorcycle.
Brandon Irwin received serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Kathleen Dunn was uninjured and did not seek medical attention.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kathleen was wearing her seat belt and Brandon was wearing safety equipment at the time of the collision.
Brandon Irwin’s 1999 Buell motorcycle received total damages and was towed by Slate Towing. Kathleen Dunn’s 2009 Infinity G37 received minor damages and was able to drive from the scene of the crash.
This motorcycle crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop F.
