Motorcycle Crash Seriously Injures Teens


In Grundy County, two Trenton, Missouri teenagers are seriously injured after they crash and are ejected from their motorcycle.

On June 18, 2013 at approximately 8:00 p.m., Jesse Bruce, age 19 of Trenton, Missouri was operating a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle along with passenger Ericka Spurgin, age 15 of Trenton, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Jesse Bruce was traveling in the eastbound direction on a private road and two miles south of Galt. The crash occurred when Jesse failed to negotiate a right hand turn correctly and skidded off the west side of the road, overturning and ejecting him and Ericka off the motorcycle.

Ericka Spurgin received serious injuries and was transported by Grundy County ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital. Jesse Bruce also received serious injuries from the motorcycle crash and was taken by a private vehicle to Wright Memorial Hospital.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, neither Jesse Bruce nor Ericka Spurgin was wearing safety equipment during the time of the crash.

Jesse Bruce’s 2013 Yamaha motorcycle received minor damages and was driven from the scene of the crash.

This motorcycle crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop H.
