Motorcycle Crash Severely Injures Two

In Benton County, two people are severely injured after a motorcycle crash that involved a deer.

On April 24, 2012 at approximately 9:05 p.m., Bradley Luetjen, age 33 and a resident of Ionia, Missouri was operating a 1999 Kawasaki Motorcycle and traveling in the southbound direction. Nikki Bale, age 29 and a resident of Cole Camp, Missouri was Bradley’s passenger on the motorcycle.

At that said time and place, Bradley was traveling southbound on Route B, one mile north of Mount Hulda, when a deer approached into the roadway. According to Highway Patrol, Bradley ran into the deer on the roadway. After impact, Bradley and Nikki were ejected off the motorcycle and slid into a ditch.

Bradley suffered serious injuries and was transported by Life Light Eagle to Centerpoint Hospital. Nikki received serious injuries as well, she was transported by Life Light Eagle to St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

From a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both Bradley and Nikki were wearing safety helmets during the time of the crash.

Bradley’s 1999 Kawasaki Motorcycle received total damages and was towed by Coy’s Towing.

This motorcycle crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop A. The crash is still undergoing investigation with charges pending.
