Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on MO 39 in Barry County

When one driver attempted to turn, he crashed head-on into a motorcycle, who was killed as a result.

On July 11, 2012 at approximately 8:30 P.M., 27-year-old Nicholas Kulhanek from Shell Knob, Missouri was heading south on MO 39 in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. At said time and place, Aaron Poston, age 49, was heading north while operating a 1967 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The crash occurred when Kulhanek was attempting to make a turn. He crashed into Poston head on.

Poston was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Barry County Coroner Charlie McMannus. It has not been reported that Kulhanek suffered injuries as a result of this crash. He was tested for alcohol as required by state law.

Kulhanek’s vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Moore’s Towing of Shell Knob. Poston’s motorcycle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Moore’s Towing.

This crash was investigated by Trooper Kyle L Knight and Crash Team 3’s Sergeant Bonnie Talik of Troop D in Barry County. This was Troop D’s 50th fatality for 2012 and 4th for the month of July.
