Myrtle Lorene Argie of Warsaw Missouri is Tragically Killed in a Head-On Car Crash on US Highway 65



Pettis County Missouri-

The tragic car crash occurred on Monday, December 3rd, 2018 in Pettis County.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol report #180723374 stated that at approximately 1:00p.m. on the above date, a 2013 Dodge driven by Delores R. Letourneau, 43, of Sedalia Missouri was driving northbound, in the southbound lanes of US Highway 65, just South of Claycomb Road.

The report states that Letourneau’s Dodge then struck head-on, a 1999 Toyota driven by George R. Argie, 86, along with a passenger, his wife Myrtle Lorene Argie, 76, both of Warsaw Missouri.

We are saddened to learn that Lorene Argie was pronounced at approximately 1:43 p.m. by Pettis County Assistant Coroner Todd Asbury.

Both Delores Letourneau and Mr. Argie were transported to Bothwell Hospital for treatment of minor injuries by Pettis County Ambulance Department.

It was also reported that both Mr. and Mrs. Argie were wearing their seatbelts while Delores Letourneau was not wearing a safety device.

The fatal head-on collision that claimed Mrs. Argies life was investigated by Cpl. J.D. Ownes, 876, of Troop A and the Missouri State Highway Patrols Major Crash Investigation Unit #1, along with Sgt. H.A. Sears, 1200. They were assisted by Trooper A.M. Jeffreys, 933, Trooper M.J. Ownes, 488, and Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputies. Don’s Towing also helped cleanup the accident scene.

It was also later reported by several sources that Letourneau was later arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail for multiple offences, including felony DWI.

Lorene Argie taught English at Warsaw High School from 1982 until her retirement. This past October George and Myrtle Lorene celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary. They were married October 22nd, 1977 at the First Baptist Church on Spokane Missouri.
