One Dead in ATV Crash

In Lincoln County, an ATV crash seriously injures one passenger and kills the other.

On December 16, 2012 at approximately 12:06 a.m., Ryan Ehlmann, age 22 from Troy, Missouri was operating a Max IV ATV. Ryan’s passengers were Thomas Loeffler, age 25 from Troy, Missouri and Bradley Ballman, age 26 from O’Fallon, Missouri.

At that said time, Ryan Ehlmann was traveling in the southbound direction on 544 Paris Branch Road. The crash occurred as Ryan lost control of the ATV and overturned, which caused all the passengers to be ejected.

Bradley Ballman was pronounced dead at the scene by Lincoln County EMS and transported to McCoy Blossom Funeral Home in Troy, Missouri. Thomas Loeffler received serious injuries from the crash and was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur by air evacuation team. Ryan Ehlmann was moderately injured and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital West by Lincoln County EMS.

Ryan Ehlmann’s Max IV ATV received minor damages from the crash and was left at the scene.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop C.
