One Fatality and Three Injured on Highway 63


In Randolph County, a crash on highway 63 took the life of one woman and injured three of her passengers.

On October 28, 2012 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Kimberly Wolfe, age 23 from Jacksonville, Missouri was operating a 2005 Dodge. Kimberly was traveling in the northbound direction on Missouri highway 63. The three passengers in the vehicle along with Kimberly were Alex Myer (26), Tyler Powell (25), and Joralee Smith (20).

At that said time and place, Kimberly was traveling in the northbound direction on highway 63 and three miles north of Clark. The crash occurred as Kimberly drove off the right side of the roadway and collided with a Jeep Cherokee that was parked on the side of the road.

Kimberly Wolfe was transported to Moberly Regional Medical Center by air evacuation helicopter. Later, Kimberly was pronounced dead by Dr. Dennis Smith. Tyler Powell and Joralee Smith received moderate injuries from the crash and were transported to Moberly Regional Medical Center by Randolph County ambulance. Alex Myer suffered serious injuries and was transported by air evacuation helicopter to the University Medical Center. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all occupants in this crash were not wearing their seat belts.

Kimberly’s 2005 Dodge and the unknown driver’s Jeep Cherokee both received total damages from the collision and were towed by Cummin’s Wrecker in Moberly, Missouri.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop B, Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, Randolph County Southeast and East Rural Fire Departments, Randolph County ambulance, and University Children’s Hospital ambulance. This is troop B’s 32nd fatality for the year of 2012.
