Passenger Dies After Driver Crashes Into Apartment

Springfield, MO – Passenger dies and two were injured after a vehicle crashed into an apartment Wednesday night.

Sharon Bishop-Frandsen, age 72, of Forsyth, was operating a Lexus sport-utility vehicle when she lost control of the vehicle in a Target parking lot on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 and crashed into the side of an apartment building on Primrose Street where she resided, said Springfield Police.

Witnesses at the scene confirmed that they saw the vehicle traveling through the parking lot at a high rate of speed when it left the Target parking lot and collided with the side of apartment A-102. The tenant suffered minor injuries and was treated and released the same day from a local hospital.

Sharon Bishop-Frandsen was transported to a local hospital for her injuries and was reported to be in stable condition. Mollie Poindexter, age 64, also of Forsyth, was the only passenger of Sharon Bishop-Frandsen’s vehicle. Pointdexter was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she died later from her injuries.

The cause of the accident is still unknown and is under investigation.
