Passenger in ATV Crash is Seriously Injured

In Nodaway County, a passenger of an ATV was sitting on the tailgate and was seriously injured after she was run over by the ATV.

On January 17, 2013 at approximately 6:44 p.m., Harry Park, age 69 from Parnell, Missouri was operating a 2012 Polaris Ranger ATV. Marilyn Taber, age 65 from Parnell, Missouri was the only passenger on the ATV at the time of the crash.

At that said date and time, Harry Park was traveling in the northbound direction about 3 miles west of Ravenwood on private property. The crash occurred as Harry Park was reversing out of a closed ATV trailer while Marilyn was sitting on the tailgate of the ATV. Harry ran over Marilyn as he was unaware that she fell off the ATV after it struck a bump.

Marilyn Taber was seriously injured and was transported by the Nodaway County ambulance to St. Francois Hospital. Marilyn was later transferred to their Trauma Center and was the only occupant injured in this incident.

Harry Park’s 2012 Ranger Polaris ATV was undamaged and released to the owner.

This crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop H, the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department, Ravenwood Fire and Rescue, and the Nodaway County ambulance.
