Passenger Seriously Injured in Tire Blow-out


In Oregon County, a West Plains, Missouri woman is seriously injured after the vehicle’s tire blew out and overturned.

On June 21, 2013 at approximately 3:00 p.m., Debbie Brawley, age 31 of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas was operating a 1997 Ford Explorer along with passenger Melissa Halsted, age 42 of West Plains, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Debbie Brawley was traveling in the northbound direction on US 63 and one mile north of Koshkonong. The crash occurred as Debbie’s tire blew out, which caused her to drive off the roadway and overturn several times.

Melissa Halsted received serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Debbie Brawley received moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both occupants involved in this crash were wearing their seat belts.

Debbie’s 1997 Ford Explorer received total damages from the crash and was towed by Zach’s Towing of Thayer.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop G.
