On November 14, 2011 at approximately 11:55 A.M., 51-year-old Yvonnda Booker from St. Louis, Missouri was operating a 2009 Mitsubishi Galante traveling northbound on Interstate 55 north of Lindbergh Blvd. She had one passenger – Darell Booker, age 56, from St. Louis, Missouri. At said time and place, Edward Bak, age 39, was also traveling northbound on Interstate 55 in a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado and Noah Brandt, age 15, was operating a 2011 Volkswagon Golf heading northbound. It is unknown whether the at-fault, permit driver, Noah Brandt, had any passengers at the time of the crash.
Before the crash, Booker was in the left merge lane from Lindbergh Blvd. to northbound Interstate 55 when Brandt was in the right merge lane at the same location. Bak was in lane four. Brandt was inattentive and attempted to merge left. Booker steered to the left to avoid contact with Brandt and as a result the left front of her vehicle crashed in to the right rear of Bak. Booker continued off the roadway and struck a guard rail. Bak then spun clockwise and struck the left side of Brandt’s vehicle. All drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Yvonnda Booker suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri by Mehlville Ambulance. Her passenger, Darell Booker also suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to Mercy Hospital by Mehlville Ambulance. Bak and Brandt did not suffer injuries as a result of the crash.
Booker’s Mitsubishi received moderate damages and was towed from the scene of the crash by Miner’s Towing from Fenton, Missouri. Bak’s Chevrolet Colorado received moderate damages and was towed from the scene of the crash by Fast Track Towing and Recovery from St. Louis, Missouri. Brandt made personal arrangements to have the vehicle towed.
