Rear-end Collision Causes Serious Injuries


In Randolph County, a man is seriously injured after the involvement of a rear-end collision.

On March 13, 2014 at approximately 2:22 p.m., Michael Geudner, age 59 of Madison, Missouri was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Metro. Melba Croney, age 46 of Moberly, Missouri was operating a 1999 GMC Suburban. Brenda Koenig, age 48 of Moberly, Missouri was operating a 2003 Dodge Caravan.

At that said date and time, Michael and Melba were both traveling in the eastbound direction while Brenda was traveling in the westbound direction on US Highway 24 and just east of Moberly. The crash occurred as Michael’s vehicle prepared to make a left turn but Melba rear-ended his vehicle. Then the impact of the collision forced Michael’s vehicle to crash into Brenda’s vehicle.

Michael received serious injuries and was transported to Moberly Regional Hospital by Randolph County ambulance. Melba received moderate injuries and was transported by Randolph County ambulance to Moberly Regional Hospital. Brenda was uninjured in the crash and did not seek medical attention.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all the participants involved were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Michael’s 1999 Chevrolet Metro received total damages and was towed by Ollman’s. Melba’s 1999 GMC Suburban received moderate damages and was towed by Palmatory’s Wrecker. Brenda’s 2003 Dodge Caravan received minor damages and was driven from the scene of the crash.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop B and the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department.
