Serious Injuries for Two Involved in Tree Collision

In Polk County, the driver and his passenger are seriously injured after traveling off the road and crashing into a fence and tree.

On April 17, 2013 at approximately 5:35 p.m., Brian Massey, age 33 from Morrisville, Missouri was operating a 2002 Ford Escape. Jerry Rupe, age 32 from Morrisville, Missouri was Brian’s passenger during the time of the collision.

At that said date and time, Brian Massey was traveling in the northbound direction on Grant Road and two miles northeast of Morrisville, Missouri. The crash occurred when Brian’s vehicle skidded off the right side of the road, and overturned after striking a tree and fence.

Jerry Rupe and Brian Massey received serious injuries from the collision and were both transported by ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jerry Rupe wasn’t wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and it is unknown if Brian Massey was wearing his.

Brian Massey’s 2002 Ford Escape received total damages and was towed by B & B Wrecker in Bolivar, Missouri.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D.
