Serious Injuries in Cedar County Crash


In Cedar County, the result of a head-on collision seriously injures all participants involved in the crash on Missouri Route U.

On November 1, 2013 at approximately 7:20 p.m., Davis Worthington, age 19 of El Dorado Springs, Missouri was operating a 1998 Ford Ranger. Christi Lasley-Sutton, age 45 of El Dorado Springs, Missouri was operating a 2004 Pontiac Montana along with passengers William Sutton, age 49, and Emily Sutton, age 12.

At that said date and time, Worthington was traveling in the westbound direction while Lasley-Sutton was traveling in the eastbound direction on Missouri Route U and four miles southeast of El Dorado Springs. The crash occurred as Worthington traveled off the right side of the road, over corrected, crossed the center line, and then collided with Lasley-Sutton’s vehicle head-on.

Christi Lasley-Sutton and William Sutton received serious injuries and were both flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Davis Worthington received serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to CMH Hospital in Bolivar. Emily Sutton was uninjured and did not seek medical attention.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, William Sutton was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision and it is unknown if Christi Lasley-Sutton was or was not wearing her seat belt.

Lasley-Sutton’s 2004 Pontiac Montana received total damages and was towed by Mike’s Wrecker in Stockton. Worthington’s 1998 Ford Ranger received total damages and was towed by Steward Wrecker in El Dorado Springs.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D.
