St. Charles County Crash Leaves Two Missourians Injured

St. Peters, Missouri driver fails to yield, causing a two car crash which ended in injury.

On December 26, 2011 at approximately 7:00 p.m., 48 year old Cherie Gerdel of Foristell, Missouri was operating a 1995 Chevrolet G20 van traveling westbound on Highway N at Hepperman Road. Gerdel had two passengers in her vehicle at the time: 29 year old Lucas Allen and 32 year old April Denton, both of Foristell.

At that said time and place, 43 year old Steven Kurzawa of St. Peters, Missouri was operating a 1998 Dodge Durango traveling southbound on Hepperman Road. Kurzawa failed to stop for a stop sign and struck the Gerdel vehicle on the passenger side.

Passenger April Denton was taken from the scene of the crash by St. Charles County Ambulance to St. Joseph’s West with moderate injuries. Passenger Lucas Allen was also taken to St. Joseph’s West by St. Charles County Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. Driver Cheri Gerdel and the at-fault driver Steven Kurzawa were both uninjured in the crash. All parties involved were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.

Gerdel’s vehicle sustained extensive damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by I-70 Towing. The at-fault vehicle also sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by I-70 Towing. Both drivers possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper S.C. Anderson of Troop C.
