St. Charles County crash ends in moderate injuries for a Missouri man after being hit from behind while stopped at a red light.

On September 14, 2011, at approximately 9:10 a.m., 52 year old driver, Eric Schukar from St. Charles, Missouri was operating a Chrysler Mini Van stopped at a stop light on westbound Highway 94, East of Kisker Road. Also stopped in front of Schuker at the light was Joan Jackson-Skaggs, age 51 from Moscow Mills, Missouri, operating a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am. At the same time and place, Robert Ott, age 41 of St. Charles, Missouri, was operating a 2002 Dodge Dakota traveling westbound on Highway 94, approaching the stop light.

Ott failed to stop at the red light which caused the front of his vehicle to strike the rear of Schukar’s vehicle. The collision forced Shuckar to strike the rear of the vehicle Jackson- Skaggs was operating. Schukar was the only person injured in the crash. Schukar suffered moderate injuries from the collision and was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Peters, by St. Charles County Ambulance.

Ott, the at fault driver, and Schukar’s vehicles suffered moderate damages and Jackson- Skaggs’s vehicle received minor damages. All three automobiles were towed from the scene of the crash by D and L towing. All drivers involved in the crash were wearing their safety devices.

The crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper M. Autenrieth from Troop C.
