St. Louis County Two Car Crash Results in Injury for One

Missouri man sustained moderate injuries in two car t-bone crash on Highway 30 in St. Louis County.

On December 20, 2011 at approximately 9:20 p.m., 60 year old Dale Tumbas of House Springs, Missouri was operating a 1998 Toyota Corolla traveling eastbound on Highway 30, about .3 mile west of Highway PP. Tumbas was not transporting any passengers in his vehicle.

At that said time and place, 31 year old Jason Leeker of High Ridge, Missouri was operating a 2005 Ford F-150 traveling southbound on Highway 30. Leeker then attempted to make a left turn from westbound Highway 30 onto Ottomeyer Road, failing to yield to Tumbas. Tumbas then had no other option and struck the right side of Leeker’s vehicle.

Dale Tumbas was transported from the scene of the crash by North Jefferson County Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. The at-fault driver, Jason Leeker, was uninjured in the crash. Both drivers were wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.

Tumbas’ vehicle sustained total damage in the crash and was towed from the scene by High Ridge Towing. The at-fault vehicle driven by Jason Leeker sustained extensive damage and was also towed from the scene of the crash by High Ridge Towing. Both drivers possessed insurance coverage for their vehicles at the time of the crash.

This crash was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper G. Gronemeyer of Troop C.
