It is a tough week in Harrisonville Missouri which is just south of Kansas City. Yesterday afternoon, August 23rd 2016, as Harrisonville High School dismissed at approximately 3:00 p.m., a student of the high school lost control of his vehicle and struck another student, who was walking home from school.
A 14-year-old freshman at Harrisonville High School died on Tuesday afternoon when he was struck by the driver of an SUV on a sidewalk in the 1100 block of east Elm.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 3 p.m. on Elm Street. A student of Harrisonville High School was the driver of a 1980 Chevrolet Blazer that traveled off of the left side of the roadway, went into a ditch, crossed back over the roadway and hit another student who was walking on the sidewalk. The 17-year-old driver then crashed into a house.
