Teen Passes Out and Sustains Serious Injuries

In Miller County, an 18 year-old lost consciousness due to medical issues and crashed into the concrete barrier resulting in serious injuries.

On March 19, 2012 at approximately 12:33 p.m., Stephanie Penachio, age 18 and of Eldon, Missouri was operating a 2004 Pontiac and traveling in the eastbound direction on US 54.

At that said time and place, Stephanie was traveling east on US 54, one mile west of MO 52, when she suddenly lost consciousness due to medical issues. Her vehicle crossed the median, veered off the left side of the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and struck a concrete barrier.

Stephanie sustained very serious injuries from the crash and was transported by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri where Stephanie received medical treatment for her condition.

Stephanie was found to be not wearing her seat belt during the time of the crash, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Stephanie’s 2004 Pontiac received total damages and was towed by Hi-Tech Towing in Kaiser, Missouri.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and was assisted by troop F.
