On March 4, 2012 at approximately 10:50 A.M., 16-year-old Mark Bryant from Fairland, Oklahoma was westbound on US 60 five miles west of Neosho in a 2002 Ford Ranger. At said time and place, Charles Brown, age 65, from Seneca, Missouri was heading west in a 1993 Chevrolet pick-up. Brown had one passenger – Travis Smith, age 38, from Neosho, Missouri.
The crash occurred when Brown was slowing to make a left turn and Bryant crashed into the rear of Brown’s vehicle. Bryant was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Smith and Brown were wearing seatbelts at this time.
Bryant, the at-fault driver, suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash to INTEGRIS Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, Oklahoma by private transportation. Brown suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Brown’s passenger, Smith, suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital.
Bryant’s Ford Ranger received moderate damage and was removed from the scene of the crash by the owner. Brown’s pick-up received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Doug’s Towing of Seneca, Missouri.
