Three Moderately Injured in Marion County Crash


In Marion County, three people receive moderate injuries after a collision on an obstructed curve.

On June 14, 2013 at approximately 12:55 p.m., Shawn Cox, age 28 of Hannibal, Missouri was operating a 1993 Chevrolet pickup truck. Susan Severs, age 22 of Hannibal, Missouri was operating a 1997 Plymouth Neon along with passenger Teresa Severs, age 52.

At that said date and time, Shawn Cox was traveling in the northbound direction as Susan Severs was traveling in the southbound direction on County Road 424 and four miles west of Hannibal. The crash occurred as the two vehicles collided in the middle of the roadway in an obstructed curve.

The participants involved in this crash received moderate injuries and were transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all of the participants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision.

Shawn Cox’s 1993 Chevrolet and Susan Severs’ 1997 Plymouth received total damages and were both towed by Parts Automotive in Palmyra, Missouri.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop B, Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Marion County ambulance, and the Marion County Fire and Rescue.
