Fulton, MO – Three workers were taken to local hospitals after being injured near the Ameren Missouri Nuclear Plant after an electrical flash accident.

Officials are currently trying to determine what caused the electrical flash that injured three employees working in the switch yard Tuesday evening.

The flash produced an intense burst of heat and bright spark that caused burns to workers, including burns to the face.

“Everything is safe,” said Rita Holmes-Bobo, communications director for the St. Louis based utility. “What we’re concerned about now is getting to the root cause and we’re concerned about the safety of the workers.”
