Two are Pronounced Dead in North County Crash

In St. Louis County, two are pronounced fatal after an early-morning collision on I-270.

On September 25, 2011 at approximately 1:01 a.m., Patrick Walsh, 20, from St. Charles, Missouri was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the westbound direction. Nicole Stanner, age 36, from O’Fallon, Missouri was operating a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe and traveling in the westbound direction on I-270. Nicole had six other passengers with her; Steven Brueggen age 38 and from Florissant, Kenneth Frederick age 38 and from St. Charles, John (37) and Judy (38) Hart from St. Charles, Kevin Leahy age 48 and from St. Charles, and Michael McLemore age 37 and from O’Fallon.

At that said time and place, Patrick and Nicole were traveling in the westbound direction on I-270 west, west of Florissant Road. Both traveling in the same direction, Patrick struck into the rear of Nicole’s vehicle causing her to roll-over multiple times and travel off the right side of the roadway.

The at-fault driver, Patrick Walsh, sustained minor injuries from this crash and was taken to Christian Northwest Hospital by Ferguson PD. Nicole Stanner received minor injuries as well, she was taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur by Christian Northeast ambulance. All, except for two in Nicole’s vehicle received only minor injuries. Kenneth Frederick and John Hart were taken to DePaul Hospital by Christian Northeast ambulance. The other two victims, Judy and Kevin were taken to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur by the Christian Northeast ambulance. Victim, Steven Brueggen was pronounced dead at the scene at 0130 hours by Dr. King with the Christian Northeast ambulance. Also, Michael McLemore was pronounced dead at the scene at 0123 hours by the Christian Northeast ambulance personnel.

Nicole Stanner’s 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe received total damages and was towed by Hood’s Towing. Patrick Walsh’s 2005 Chevrolet Silverado also received the total damages from this auto -crash and was also towed by Hood’s Towing.

This crash was investigated by Troopers; E. Pape #1216, Z. Kral # 1379 and assisted by Corporal S. Buchheit #142, Sergeant H. Smith #974 and P. Kempke # 982 and Crash Team #2 in Troop C.
