Two Fatalities for St. Joseph Residents

In Buchanan County, two men from St. Joseph die after a single-vehicle collision early Saturday evening.

On September 22, 2012 at approximately 9:59 p.m., Aric Anderson, age 20 from St. Joseph, Missouri was operating a 2003 Chevrolet. Inside the vehicle with Aric Anderson was his two passengers, Douglas Arrow (31) and Riplea Bancroft (18), during the time of the crash.

At that said time and place, Aric Anderson was traveling in the eastbound direction on Mitchell Road and East City Limits of St. Joseph, Missouri. The crash occurred as Aric lost control of his vehicle, traveled off the south side of the roadway, and collided with an embankment. The impact from the collision caused Aric and his passenger, Douglas Arrow, to eject from the vehicle.

Aric Anderson and Douglas Arrow were pronounced dead by Buchanan County Deputy coroner, Richard Shelton, at the scene of the crash. Aric Anderson and Douglas Arrow were then transported to Meierhoffer Funeral Home. Riplea Bancroft suffered serious injuries after the collision and was taken to Heartland Hospital by the Heartland ambulance. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all of the passengers involved in this crash were not wearing their seat belts.

Aric Anderson’s 2003 Chevrolet received total damages from the crash and was towed by R & W of St. Joseph.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop H.
