Two Fatalities in Head-on Collision

In Gasconade County, the driver of one vehicle lost control on the slick roadway and collided head-on with oncoming traffic.

On December 20, 2012 at approximately 6:45 p.m., Alanna Perlman, age 49 from Rosebud, Missouri was operating a 1999 Dodge Stratus. Alanna’s only passenger was Seth Thornton, age 19 from Owensville, Missouri. Raymond Bowers, age 36 from Bland, Missouri was operating a 2012 GMC truck. Susan Bowers, age 65 from Bland, Missouri was the only passenger in Raymond’s vehicle at the time of the collision.

At that said time, Alanna Perlman was traveling in the westbound direction on Missouri Highway 28 while Raymond Bowers was traveling in the eastbound direction. The collision occurred as Alanna lost control on the slick roadway, crossed the center line, and was hit in the passenger side door by Raymond’s vehicle.

Alanna Perlman and Seth Thornton were pronounced dead at the scene by Gasconade County coroner, Ben Grosse, and then taken to Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri. Raymond and Susan Bowers both received moderate injuries from the collision and were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri.

Alanna’s 1999 Dodge Stratus and Raymond Bower’s 2012 GMC truck received total damages and were towed by Triple L Towing in Owensville, Missouri.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop F. This is Troop F’s 3rd and 4th fatality for December and marked the 61st fatality for 2012.
