On October 24, 2012 at approximately 11:00 p.m., Brian Ostrander, age 18 from Oak Grove, Missouri was operating a 1983 Pontiac. Brian was traveling in the southbound direction on highway FF and BB. John Guerra, age 43 from Blue Springs, Missouri was operating a 2010 Harley Davidson. John was traveling in the northbound direction on highway FF and BB.
At that said time and place, Brian Ostrander was traveling in the southbound direction while John Guerra was in the northbound direction on Missouri highway FF and BB. The crash occurred when Brian Ostrander was attempting to turn onto southbound route BB and John’s motorcycle collided into the side of Brian’s vehicle.
Brian Ostrander and John Guerra were both pronounced dead by Jackson County Medical examiner, Jaci Donath, at the crash scene. Later, both were transported to the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Brian Ostrander was wearing a safety device while John was not.
This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop A, Grain Valley Police Department, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. This is troop A’s 53rd fatality for 2012.
