Two Men Killed in Single-vehicle Crash


In Stone County, the driver and his passenger are ejected from their vehicle and killed after losing control on the roadway.

On August 12, 2013 at approximately 9:40 p.m., Robert Campbell, age 43 of Springfield, Missouri was operating a 1995 Ford Pickup along with passenger Dana Sanchez, age 48 of Galena, Missouri.

At that said date and time, Robert was traveling in the eastbound direction on Highway 413 and 2.5 miles west of Galena. The crash occurred as Robert’s vehicle traveled off the roadway, ejecting Dana and himself from the vehicle.

Robert Campbell and Dana Sanchez were pronounced dead at the scene by Stone County coroner, John Cunnynghan, and then transported to the Stone County Coroner’s Office.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, neither Robert nor Dana was wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.

Robert Campbell’s 1995 Ford Pickup received total damages and was towed by Larry’s Towing out of Branson West.

This fatality crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop D, Stone County Deputies, and Northern Stone Fire Protection. This is Troop D’s 68th and 69th fatalities for 2013.
