On December 6, 2011 at approximately 11:00 A.M., 62-year-old Christine Osbourne from Monroe City, Missouri was traveling westbound on Highway Missouri 22 ½ mile west of Route E in a 2005 Dodge. Osbourne had one passenger – Carolyn Harris, age 49, from Paris, Missouri. At said time and place, Ryan Brockmeier, age 27, from Centralia, Missouri was traveling eastbound in a 2007 Sterling Tractor.
The crash occurred when Osbourne lost control of her vehicle, slid off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, and crossed over the center line to crash into Brockmeier’s tractor. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Harris, Osbourne’s passenger, suffered moderate injuries and was transported from the scene of the crash by EMS to University Hospital of Columbia, Missouri. Brockmeier suffered moderate injuries and was transported by EMS to University Hospital from the scene of the crash.
Osbourne’s vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by Ron’s Collision of Mexico, Missouri. Brockmeier’s tractor received moderate damage and was towed by I-70 Towing of Columbia, Missouri. Osbourne had National Interstate Automobile Insurance and Brockmeier had Safeco Automobile Insurance at the time of the crash.
This investigation was led by Trooper D. Sullivan and assisted by Sergeant D. McPike of Troop F in Audrain County.
