On July 10, 2012 at approximately 2:45 P.M., 81-year-old Phyllis Galati from Foley, Missouri was heading south in a 2012 Ford Fusion on Highway 79 north of Route C in Lincoln County. At said time and place, Paul Tenting, age 63, from Winfield, Missouri was heading north in a 2001 Ford Escort. Tenting had one passenger – Shawn Gibson from Winfield, Missouri, age 32.
The crash occurred when Galati attempted to pass another vehicle in a passing zone. The front of Galati’s vehicle crashed into the front of Tenting’s vehicle. Both vehicles went off the east side of the road.
Galati suffered serious injuries and was taken by Arch Helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. Tenting suffered serious injuries and was taken by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital. Tenting’s passenger, Gibson, suffered minor injuries and was taken by Lincoln County Ambulance to St. Joseph’s West Hospital in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.
Galati’s vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by El Rancho Towing of Troy, Missouri. Tenting’s vehicle received total damage and was towed from the scene of the crash by El Rancho Towing.
This crash was investigated by Trooper R. R. Davis of Troop C in Lincoln County.
