Two Teenagers Injured In One-Vehicle Crash

Miller County – Two teenagers are injured after the car traveled off the road and became airborne before hitting a tree Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, May 26, 2013, Dakota L. Bell, age 17 of Iberia, was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on Route EE. Michael J. Spencer, age 13 of Iberia, was the only passenger in Bell’s truck.

The accident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. when Bell’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a sign. The pickup truck then became airborne over a creek where it struck a wall. After hitting the ground the vehicle overturned and struck a tree.

Dakota L. Bell received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. Michael J. Spencer was taken by Staff for Life Helicopter to University Hospital with serious injuries. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both Bell and Spencer were wearing their seat belts.

Bell’s 2000 Chevrolet Silverado truck was towed by Hi Tech Towing and received total damages.

This accident was investigated by Trooper K. Schrage and Assisted by Sergeant M. Cody of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F.
