Two Teens Seriously Injured in Crash

In Cape Girardeau County, two teenagers are seriously injured after the driver of the vehicle ran off the roadway.

On February 27, 2013 at approximately 11:35 a.m., Dru Armitage, age 18 from Chaffee, Missouri was operating a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. Haley Cato, age 18 from Cape Girardeau, was Dru’s only passenger inside the vehicle.

At that said date and time, Dru was traveling in the eastbound direction on Highway AB and 2 miles south of Cape Girardeau. The crash occurred as Dru ran off the right side of the roadway, overturning several times, and ejecting both occupants.

Dru Armitage and Haley Cato both received serious injuries from the crash and were transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in critical condition.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, neither Dru nor Haley was wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Dru’s 1999 Jeep Wrangler received total damages and was towed by Carnell’s Wrecker.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of Troop E.
