Two Women Seriously Injured in One-Vehicle Crash

In Callaway County, two women from Mexico, Missouri were seriously injured after running off the roadway and colliding with a tree.

On August 31, 2012 at approximately 8:30 a.m., Glenda Adair, age 63 and from Mexico, Missouri was operating a 2005 Toyota Avalon and traveling in the westbound direction on US highway 54. Martha Riechers, age 65 and from Mexico, Missouri was Glenda’s passenger during the time of the crash.

At that said time and place, Glenda Adair was traveling westbound on US highway 54, a half mile north of route FF, when the crash occurred. The crash happened as Glenda lost control of her vehicle due to the wet pavement and then traveled off the right side of the roadway and collided with a tree.

Glenda Adair and her passenger, Martha Riechers, both sustained serious injuries and were transported to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri by the University ambulance.

According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both Glenda and Martha were wearing their seat belts when the collision occurred.

Glenda’s 2005 Toyota Avalon received total damages and was towed by Van’s Towing.

This crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop F.
