Unsafe Lane Change Causes Moderate Injuries for Two Men

In St. Louis County, two men suffer from moderate injuries after a two-vehicle crash collision on Interstate 270.

On August 19, 2012 at approximately 3:30 a.m., Ronald Mottley, age 39 and of St. Louis, Missouri was operating a 2001 Chevrolet Impala and traveling in the northern direction on Interstate 270. Tyrone Booker, 39, and of Florissant, Missouri was Ronald’s passenger in the vehicle during the time of the crash. The second vehicle involved in this crash is an unknown driver, they were operating a 2005 Dodge Neon and traveling in the northern direction on Interstate 270.

At that said time and place, Ronald was traveling in the northbound direction on Interstate 270 in the center lane and just north of the Lilac exit when the crash collision occurred. Ronald swerved to avoid a vehicle that made an unsafe lane change and collided with the unknown driver’s vehicle, which was unoccupied and partially blocking the right lane and shoulder of the road. Due to the impact of the crash, Ronald’s vehicle overturned.

Ronald Mottley and his passenger, Tyrone Booker, both received moderate injuries from the crash. Ronald and Tyrone were taken by Christian ambulance to DePaul Hospital for medical treatment. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the unknown driver did not seek any medical attention for injuries.

Ronald’s 2001 Chevrolet Impala and the unknown driver’s 2005 Dodge Neon both received total damages from the crash collision and towed by Bob Bolin’s Towing.

This auto-crash was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and with the assistance of troop C.

Improper or unsafe lane changes not only affect you as the driver, but as a passenger, and/or the other party’s vehicle. Be sure to look in all your mirrors when switching lanes and especially on the highway and intersections.
